Providing Sporting Wishes for Children facing life limiting illnesses
Sports Connections Foundation's Sporting Wishes help make the dreams come true for some of the bravest & most deserving children that you can imagine!
We are very proud to be able to provide some much needed respite from gruelling treatments & lengthy hospital stays that these children face, whilst also creating lasting memories for the whole family.
Parents have told us that we have been able to bring hope, joy & excitement at such a difficult & stressful time in their lives & with over 50,000 children living with life limiting illnesses in the UK alone, we will continue to do so!
For families, a Sporting Wish can provide a lasting happy memory of their child enjoying a money-can't-buy experience whilst surrounded by family & friends. These memories can be looked back on and remembered forever & can also give the children a much needed boost as they continue their various treatments.
The very first wish was for Leah & John (both aged 9) who, with their families, were guests of the FA at Wembley, for the England v Sweden friendly in 2011. Leah & John met the former England manager Fabio Capello, helped lead the teams out, while their friends & family could watch it all live on TV & share the experience. We've also given children the chance to be flag bearers at England international football matches at Wembley Stadium, given tours around training grounds of various sports teams, visited Red Bull Racing & been to the ATP Tennis semi-finals.
