A ProKick Q & A with a Scottish International Footballer!

The 2018/19 school year is in full swing and so is our ProKick Schools Challenge.

Early in October our charity co-founder Junior McDougald went to Collingtree Primary School to host the schools ProKick event. Much to everyone’s surprise he also managed to give the school an extra special treat on the day, the chance to have a Q&A with professional footballer (and SCF Ambassador) Craig Mackail-Smith!

Craig, who had only returned from his away game at Fleetwood at 4am that morning, came in to the school in the afternoon to witness first-hand the excitement levels ProKick brings to both pupils and teachers before hosting a question and answer session with the year 5’s and 6’s.

All of the children had questions for him and Craig was more than happy to answer whilst also being able to express the importance of healthy eating and getting your school work done! Currently playing, and scoring goals, for Wycombe Wanderers the children found out that not only has he played at stadiums such as Old Trafford (Manchester United) and St. James Park (Newcastle United) but has also played against one of the best players in the world. Apparently there’s a Brazilian player called Neymar? You may have heard of him.

Whilst Craig himself wasn’t able to take part in the ProKick he allowed his son Jude to take the limelight and take his kicks on his behalf which only added to the already special day for the school.

"It's great to see first hand the joy and excitement that the ProKick Schools Challenge events bring to a school!"

We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone at Collingtree for being so welcoming and for scoring some incredible kick speeds and also, of course, a big thank you to Craig, his partner Amber and Jude for taking time out of their busy schedules!
