Sports Connections Foundation welcome professional explorer Justin Miles as new ambassador

Sports Connections Foundation (SCF), the charity that uses sport to inspire and transform the lives of children and young people, has announced a new ambassador; professional explorer Justin Miles. Justin becomes the latest figure to join Sports Connections Foundation, and will be helping the charity inspire and break down barriers for children and young people through the charity’s various sports related programmes.

Based in Peterborough but helping children throughout the UK and internationally, Sports Connections Foundation was set up by former professional footballer Junior McDougald who had a vision to use sport to inspire children and young people. The charity runs various sports-related programmes and events such as; granting Sporting Wishes for children facing life-threatening illnesses to create a special everlasting memory for them and their family. The charity utilises its connections and ambassadors to inspire and help creative positive exit routes for children and young people facing mental health struggles and social and economic deprivation. The addition of Justin Miles, an inspirational figure and keen public speaker is a huge boost for the charity and for all of the children and young people that SCF support.

Justin Miles is a professional adventurer, explorer and author who has been on an incredible and inspirational journey. After suffering brain injuries from a life-changing car accident that left him having to learn to walk and talk again, Justin overcame many mental and physical hurdles, and persevered through failures and setbacks to achieve his childhood dream of becoming an explorer. Justin’s adventures have taken him all over the globe and has used these experiences and personal battles to help others with skills such as leadership, motivation, personal development and maintaining positivity through adversity.

Justin Miles said: “SCF is a brilliant charity that runs incredible projects and programmes to support many children and young people. The charity’s work aligns with my own beliefs particularly through encouraging children to get outside, be active, and challenge themselves to chase their dreams. I am looking forward to working with SCF.”

Everyone at Sports Connections Foundation is delighted to have Justin on board with his incredible skill and inspiration and look forward to working alongside him to support more disadvantaged children and young people. Children and young people that the charity supports can learn a lot from his story and be inspired and motivated to adopt a never give up attitude and believe in achieving their dreams.
