Young People Experience Unforgettable Day at Emirates Stadium with Sports Connection Foundation and Clarion Futures

Yesterday, the Emirates Stadium came alive with excitement as up to 200 young people from diverse backgrounds gathered for an extraordinary enrichment event hosted by the Sports Connection Foundation (SCF) in partnership with Clarion Futures and local councils. This unique opportunity allowed these young individuals, aged 11-16, to explore the iconic home of Premier League giants Arsenal FC and experience the magic of football in a way few ever get to.

A highlight of the day was when 40 selected young people got to play on the pitch itself—an experience that felt like a dream come true. For many, including one young attendee who had never even been on a train before, this was a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Alongside the chance to play, the participants enjoyed an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium, visiting areas not accessible to typical spectators, offering a glimpse into the world of professional football.

The event also featured inspiring moments where young people met Arsenal Legends and special guests, gaining insight into the lives and careers of those who have thrived both on and off the pitch. They heard firsthand from club staff representing various roles within Arsenal FC, learning about diverse career pathways and the dedication required to succeed in the sport and business world.

The day culminated in the SCF Emirates Cup tournament, where selected young players showcased their skills on the very turf where footballing history is made. This activity was designed not only to entertain but to raise aspirations and inspire beneficiaries to dream bigger and explore opportunities they might never have considered.

Sports Connection Foundation and Clarion Futures, alongside St Neots County Council, Cambridge County Council, and generous donors, demonstrated the power of sport to bring people together and transform lives. The event provided a platform to identify promising young talent and offer future work experience opportunities within Arsenal FC, opening doors into the sports and business sectors.
